Trilatic Audit · September 2026 · No integration, no software to install · 15% of recovered credits, nothing otherwise
Metered AI billing is new, and it is going wrong in repeatable ways: usage billed at a premium model's rate when a cheaper model served the request; agent runs that failed but were charged in full; retry storms where an autonomous agent re-submitted the same failed task for hours; cached tokens charged at the uncached rate; batch jobs billed at the interactive rate; prepaid credits that expired unnoticed; and SaaS renewals that drifted above the order form. Independent audits published in 2026 found overcharges on the order of five percent of AI invoices reviewed, and providers credited most clearly documented disputes within days.
We audit the invoices against your own usage exports and your signed order forms, write up each finding with the line, the rate, the contract term and the arithmetic, and hand you a dispute package to send to the vendor. If you prefer, and only with your written authorisation, we send it for you.
Three to six months of the invoices you want reviewed and the matching usage exports: the Anthropic Console usage or cost CSV, the OpenAI cost export, the AWS cost and usage report for Bedrock, the GCP Cloud Billing export, the Azure cost management export, the GitHub Copilot or Microsoft 365 billing export, the vendor's order form or MSA for any SaaS or cloud line. Redact API keys and any personal data before sending; we do not need prompts, completions or customer content, only the metering rows. We do not accept, and ask you not to send, protected health information (PHI) or any patient-identifying data — metering rows should never contain it, but if a file does, tell us and we will return or delete it without opening it.
Instant, self-serve preview: upload a usage/cost export CSV at /invoice-audit/check and see findings immediately -- no email, no waiting. The raw file is never stored; only a hash and a findings summary are kept. The full memo unlocks after a short engagement form.
Or email research@trilatic.com with the vendors and the approximate monthly spend. We reply within one business day with a secure upload link and a one-page engagement letter stating the terms above. Files are deleted thirty days after the engagement closes.
We never contact a vendor on your behalf without your written authorisation for that vendor. We do not alter, negotiate or settle any debt; we document billing errors and the credit the vendor's own terms require. "Credits or refunds you actually receive" means an amount the vendor has posted to your account or paid to you in writing — not an amount we calculate, claim, or that remains disputed; our 15% invoice issues only after that posting and states the vendor confirmation it relies on. This service is a separate audit line and is not a review or determination under any dispute-resolution program we operate. Every client is recorded on our counterparty ledger.
The findings memo is provided "as is," reflects public list prices and the usage export you supply as of the date stated on it, and is not a warranty that any vendor will agree with a finding or issue a credit. Uploaded files are used solely to produce your memo, are not redistributed, and are deleted thirty days after the engagement closes; you may request earlier deletion at any time. If a dispute proceeds to litigation or a request under legal process, we disclose only what that process requires.
